The role you’ll contribute:

The Imaging Director is responsible for the administrative and technical direction for the Medical Imaging Department at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission. They will provide coordination of the technical and administrative activities and personnel of the Medical Imaging Department across all imaging modalities, and act as a liaison between the physicians, patients, staff, radiologists, and other professional health care staff. Works with the Imaging Managers, Administration and Medical Staff to develop strategic plans for providing quality care and cost effective services aligned with federal, state, and local regulations. Exercises professional judgment in performance of duties, maintains a positive and objective approach to problem-solving, and supports our mission while upholding our values. Monitors department operations to assure compliance with governmental and other regulations and meets standards established by accrediting agencies and others.

• Recommend and evaluate processes to improve systems and patient care results across the continuum of care.
• Acts as patient advocate resolving patient care issues.

· Gather data and participates in the department’s quality assurance and improvement plan to achieve a defined level of quality and appropriateness of patient care.

· Oversee daily operations of all hospital imaging areas, through the effective leadership of the Imaging Managers

· Financial understanding and management of all departmental budgets to include personnel, equipment, and operating expenses.

· Maintain a working knowledge of the departmental chargemaster; ensure accuracy of chargemaster associated with imaging procedures in order to appropriately charge for services.

· Demonstrate knowledge of appropriate computer software programs & systems (HIS, RIS, PACS, etc.) and is able to appropriately use the system(s).

· Develop and coordinates departmental strategic goals and objectives in concert with the department leaders and Medical Director to support hospital goals.

· Direct all resource management activities in concert with Imaging Managers.

· Ensure department is in compliance with regulatory agencies and state health department. Corresponds with state and national public health departments as appropriate.

· Ensure and monitor department operations to meet the criteria and standards as set forth by JCAHO, NRC, MQSA and other governing bodies.

· Assure compliance with department and institution policies, procedures and regulations.

· Maintain confidential information acquired concerning personal, financial and medical information on personnel and patients.

· Direct Imaging Managers to develop and maintain staffing guidelines and hiring.

· Provide leadership through coaching and counsel, performance monitoring and constructive feedback.

· Create a positive work environment and regularly engages in activities that promote the highest level of employee engagement.

· Manage and resolve human resource, labor relations, employee and department safety and risk management issues.

· Manage departmental supplies, equipment maintenance and payroll expenses in concert with Imaging Managers

· Review and revise Medical Imaging’s Policy and Procedure Manual as required.

· Monitors the status of equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, and equipment malfunction.

· Ensure compliance of all Imaging equipment according to the applicable state and federal guidelines/regulations.

· Represent the Medical Imaging Department at the hospital leadership meetings and interdepartmental meetings.

· Participate on interdisciplinary performance improvement teams, committees and special projects.

· Apply the profession’s code of ethics in all aspects of practice.

· Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

· Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary healthcare providers.

· Leadership ability, diplomacy, process improvement knowledge and effective written and oral communication skills.

· Must have ability to read and understand financial reports and facilitate cost management process.

· Knowledge of ACHA, OSHA, Nuclear Regulatory Commission standards

· Strong interpersonal communication skills.

· Minimum of 8 years’ experience as Radiologic Technologist or an Ultrasound Sonographer. Broad knowledge of community health concepts and services, and the ability to organize and oversee the development of a patient care team.

· Experience and knowledge of MQSA & ACR Regulations and practices.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

· Bachelor of Science Radiology, Business, Finance, or related field.

· Requires broad and intensive knowledge of medical imaging services

· 6-8 years experience in healthcare, preferably medical imaging

· Minimum of five (5) years in the management arena, including two years in healthcare field

· Expertise in financial management of resources

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

· Two years experience as a leader of a radiology/medical imaging department

· 8-10 years of experience in the healthcare field, preferably in medical imaging.

· Graduate of an accredited program in Radiology Technology.

· Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Sciences or related field.

· Master’s Degree in Business or Heatlhcare Administration.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

· Licensed radiologic technologist in the state of Kansas.

· ARRT (R) Certification upon hire.

· Approved BLS course completed at employee start date.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:

· Advanced Registry in CT, MRI, and/or Cardiovascular preferred
